Texas high school footballMike Says: We have 2 new teams in our LSG Game Of The Week section with this game. Sole possession of first place in district is on the line. Legacy brings in a strong running game with 340 yards per game and putting up a whopping 42 points per game. Ennis puts up exactly 40 points per game and has just a little better defense statistics wise. Legacy is set to have their best season in school history (First varsity season: 2008). Ennis is on track to have their best season since 2008. If you are in the area go to this one. The LIONS win it 42-40!!

Texas high school footballChris Says: This is THE matchup in 16-4A this week as both roll into the game 3-0 in district.  We have Ennis ranked higher, but once you get past the top three or four teams in a class, there is not a lot of difference in the talent level of #5-35.  Mansfield Legacy is a program on the rise and this is just the platform for them to take things to the next level.  It is a good Ennis team and they are at home, but I think Legacy will earn their right to be listed as  a top 20 team.  BRONCOS win 30-21!!

Texas high school footballLSG Intern Zach Says: Surprised that Legacy hasn’t gotten more attention this season. Maybe this is the game? Terrence Ivery is having a great season, tearing up opposing defenses with his legs while hitting them with his arm to keep them honest. He’s also getting a major assist from senior tailbacks Kenton Mayberry and Kijana Amous, who have combined for over 1,400 yards and 19 touchdowns. I like them to keep it up in the upset over the Lions on the road. Broncos 48-42.

Texas high school footballLSG Intern William Says: This game was a tough one, on one hand for Ennis you have quarterback Devin Smith who has thrown for 968 yards and 9 touchdowns along with running back Terrence Williams who has 717 yards and 10 touchdowns from the ground. Mansfield Legacy has an offense that just seems to get better every game. Seniors Kijana Amous, Terrance Ivory and Kenton Mayberry lead a rushing game that averages 340 yards per game and has 23 of the teams 36 total touchdowns. This game will be a good indicator of who has a better defense. Broncos win 66-56.

Texas high school footballLSG Writer Scott Says: Legacy is for real at 6-0. A potent combination of quarterback Terrance Ivery and running back Kijana Amous should give Ennis plenty of headaches. Ivery has eight touchdown passes while rushing for 705 yards, while Amous has 792 yards and 15 touchdowns despite missing some time due to injury. Ennis has game-changing blue-chip prospects on both sides of the ball. Baylor commit Terence Williams is one of the top running backs in Texas and has 717 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns to go along with three touchdown receptions. On defense, junior defensive end James Lockhart (6-3, 245) is being recruited by Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas and is one of the top players regardless of position in the Class of 2015 nationally. Ennis will be too strong in this one, 35-28.
