District 3-5A, 9-4A, 15-4A Playoff Breakdowns

3-5A

With the overturning of Arlington Martins (7-2, 5-1) 3 forfeited games they went from fighting to stay in the playoff hunt to being able to fight  to win district against Arlington Bowie (7-2, 5-1). With Martin gaining those three games it knocks out Fort Worth Paschal and Arlington Sam Houston, both 2-4 in district, out of playoff contention as Martins district record improves from 2-4 to 5-1. There are three potential district champions coming into the final week of the season. Martin, Bowie, and Arlington Lamar have all compiled 7-2 records overall and 5-1 in district play. While Martin and Bowie square off against each other Lamar will be playing Fort Worth Paschal. With an Arlington Bowie win they will win district, beating Lamar earlier in the year 48-17. With a Martin win and a Lamar win Arlington Lamar will win district, beating Martin earlier 44-36. With a Martin win and a Fort Worth Paschal win, Arlington Martin will be district 3-5A champs.

Predictions: Arlington Bowie (6-1) Arlington Lamar (6-1) Arlington Martin (5-2) Arlington (5-2) Fort Worth Paschal (2-5) Arlington Sam Houston (2-5) Weatherford (2-5) North Crowley (0-7)

9-4A

Frisco Centennial (8-1, 5-1) surprised by beating The Colony (8-1, 5-1) in a 21-20 thriller. The Colony, who was on their way to a perfect season and district title, now find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the district championship. With Centennial now in control of the district championship a win vs Frisco Heritage (4-5, 3-3) would seal the district title for Frisco Centennial. If Centennial were to lose and if The Colony wins against Little Elm (2-7, 0-6) The Colony would reclaim the top spot and would be district champs. For Frisco Heritage last week knocked them out of playoff contention, losing to Frisco (6-3, 4-2) 35-27, as now that Frisco Wakeland (5-4, 4-2) and Frisco now have the tiebreaker against Frisco Heritage meaning a win verses Centennial wouldn’t promote them to a playoff spot.

Prediction: Frisco Centennial (6-1) The Colony (6-1) Frisco (5-3) Frisco Wakeland (5-3) Frisco Heritage (3-4) Frisco Liberty (2-5) Prosper (1-6) Little Elm (0-7)

15-4A

When Mansfield Summit (4-5, 4-2) ran onto the field last week they were tied with Lancaster (4-5, 3-3) for the last spot in district 15-4A. Mansfield Summit took care of business against Mansfield Legacy (7-2, 4-2) 33-30, Lancaster fell short to Ennis (9-0, 6-0) 28-20 who also clinched the district title with that win. Now Lancaster and Mansfield Summit will duke it out to see who comes away with the final playoff spot in district 15-4A.

Predictions: Ennis (7-0) Mansfield Legacy (5-2) Arlington Seguin (5-2) Lancaster (4-3) Mansfield Summit (4-3) Red Oak (1-6) Waxahachie (1-6) Mansfield Lake Ridge (1-6)
