He has an overall coaching record of 165-120-0. The 165 wins puts him at #171 on the all-time coaching wins list. Every job except for Killen, he took over a struggling program and built it up. His 1991 Groesbeck team won the Class 3A state championship. He also worked as an assistant coach at Mesquite and Texarkana. Coach Bomars son is Rhett Bomar, who is a backup quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings and played his college ball at Sam Houston State.

New Head Coach: Kevin Hayes -- Was 3A Athens offensive coordinator for the last 2 seasons. Before that Hayes was the head coach at 2A/3A Teague where he led the Lions for 15 seasons to an overall 87-71-0 record. His teams there made the playoffs 8 times.

Team News: The Wildcats finished 2010 with a 2-8 record which ended a 4 year winning streak. The 2 wins was a 10 game drop after finishing 12-3 in 2009.
