* 2008 loss to Coppell was the first district loss since 2001 and their district win streak was finally halted at 38 games. Carroll had never lost a district game since moving up to class 5A.
* Was 79-1 from 2002-2006 with 4 state championships

  • Mike Says: The Dragons bring back an amazing 13 all-district players from last years Quarterfinal team.  They beat their opponents by over 39 points per game.  This years team will will rely on tradition and a good group of skill players.  They will need to replace QB Kenny Hill but  QB Agnew should be up to the task.   Allen will be the game everyone is watching again this year to open up the season.   Look for them to go 9-1 or 10-0 in the regular season and then another trip to the Quarterfinals.  Euless Trinity and DeSoto will be great matchups in the region.
  • Chris Says:  Is Ryan Agnew ready to fill the shoes left vacant by Kenny Hill?  That question will determine a lot of what happens in Southlake this year.  Don't get me wrong, the Dragons bring bank a host of superb talent so will have no trouble winning games.  Can they win the REALLY BIG ONES?  Perhaps Agnew is better than Hill? Perhaps they will take that next step and return to championship form?   Once again, the opener against Allen will tell us a lot about Hal Wasson's team.  Regardless of what happens in that game, Southlake Carroll WILL be in the title hunt this year.  They WILL beat some super strong teams.  The WILL go further this season than last!
